Title: Calm Technology, Design of the Smart IoT Devices

Abstract:

We are surrounded by interconnected computing devices, such as smart tags, bulbs, speakers, and webcams. Business reports show that 50 billion devices will be online by 2020. Technological innovations such as Roomba, and Nest thermostats can create opportunities and threats in our everyday life. Calm technology aims to reduce the "excitement" of information overload. In this talk I will present, what is IoT, and how machine learning and AI in IoT devices will improve users' interaction.
