Acadia alumni, Mrugakshee Palwe, receives the Digital Diversity Award

Presented by Digital Nova Scotia

Acadia alumni Mrugakshee Palwe, CEO of Atlantic Blockchain Company, was honoured at Digital Nova Scotia's fifth annual Digital Diversity Awards, receiving the Next Generation Leadership Award. The award celebrates a young women leader or entrepreneur who goes above and beyond their regular job responsibilities to celebrate diversity.

Through her work at Atlantic Blockchain Company and her Go Full Crypto podcast, Palwe is one of Atlantic Canada's leading educators and advocates of blockchain technology.

"In one of the most male-dominated spaces in the tech sector, her voice and the work she does goes above and beyond to add diversity to the conversation around crypto," said Digital Nova Scotia CEO Wayne Sumarah.

Accepting the award, Palwe encouraged the audience to overcome self-doubt. "I would not be here without the ability to stand on the shoulders of giants and I am grateful every single day for being able to make an impact on people's lives," she said.

The Digital Diversity Awards celebrate industry leaders who promote diversity and inclusion in Nova Scotia's tech sector. The awards were presented on October 21, 2020 as part of the Centre for Women in Business's virtual INNOVATE event.
