Abstract:

The Acadia Institute for Data Analytics (AIDA) is a technology-based institute here at Acadia that works to advance knowledge in applied data analytics. This talk will give an overview of AIDA's organization, explain how projects and data analytics are approached, and will review almost a dozen projects AIDA has worked on. We will review the CRISP-DM methodology and show how it has proven successful for AIDA's applied approach. In addition, we will show how AIDA has had an impact on rural Nova Scotia and what AIDA's goals are for the future.
